Middle East. Iran is Not an Arab State. Neither is Turkey.
For Shame! Let’s start with Jordan, the country that borders Israel from north to south. That unfortunate land typifies the “Arab” reaction to the Zionist war against Hamas. The Queen, Rania al-Abdullah, has Palestinian parents. However, she does little, as does the rest of her government, to oppose the Israeli Entity—other than talk.
Here’s an example. According to CNN, she “has called for a ceasefire in Israel’s war against Hamas, saying that supporting the protection of Palestinian lives does not equal being antisemitic or pro-terrorism.” However, that is typical of Arab talk. The questionable book, The Arab Mind (by the Hungarian Jew Raphael Patai), does remark that those people believe saying a thing makes it so, regardless of whether anything concrete is done.
But what Jordan has tangibly done, inter alia, is kick two Palestinian youths off a flight at Amman’s airport—because they were wearing their country’s flag.
In December of 2023, the Middle East Eye noted that:
Jordan had a miserable history of conflict between the army and the Palestine Liberation Organization. A bloody war broke out in 1970 between the Jordanian army and the forces affiliated with the PLO, and that war ended with the departure of all Palestinian fighters from Jordan to Lebanon in the summer of 1971.
Since then, the Jordanian scene has been almost completely neutralised from the conflict with Israel. The borders have calmed down and, most importantly, Jordan has since witnessed a sharp division within society between citizens whose origins go back to Palestine (and who arrived in Jordan as refugees), and the original citizens, many of whom consider the Palestine issue not to be a priority for them.
According to an undated article released by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, “The closing of Jordan’s border to Palestinians—while on the surface appearing to be insensitive to Palestinian suffering—enjoys wide domestic and Arab support.” And the New Arab noted “…Jordan distanced itself from the Islamist Hamas movement a long time ago, when Amman expelled Hamas’ political representatives in the kingdom in 1999 and sent them to Qatar.”
Amnesty International points the finger at the Hashemite Kingdom: “The Jordanian authorities must end a sweeping crackdown that has seen hundreds of people arrested by security and intelligence forces since October 2023 for expressing their support for rights of Palestinians in Gaza or criticizing the government’s policies towards Israel.”
Would Jordanians dare buck Genocide Joe Biden and help Hamas? After their King Abdullah collaborated with the Zionists in expelling Palestinians in 1948? Or their King Hussein who was a CIA stooge for most of his reign? After the country hosts U.S. bases and training facilities? Bringing untold wealth to the country?

Who’s Sent Aid—And How Much? Al Jazeera reported in October 2023, that “At least eight planes carrying aid from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan and Tunisia have landed at El Arish International Airport in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.” Eight!!! A U.S. C-130 transport plane, widely used throughout the world, carries 42,000 pounds (19,00 kg.) Precious little when millions of Palestinians are on the brink of famine. There are an estimated 75,000 Palestinians wounded in the fighting to date. They need medical attention. More than half the buildings of Gaza have been destroyed. That’s 157,000 structures, including homes and hospitals. Shall those displaced people continue living in tents?
Prior to the outbreak of fighting to secure a Palestine from the river to the sea, 500 trucks a day carrying all manner of goods used to cross the border into Gaza. Now, barely 100 do so. And there are thousands of trucks laden with humanitarian cargo backed up at the border. Because the Israelis won’t let them in. And the Arab world doesn’t object.
Where Is the Outcry from the Arab World? Here’s a statement from late 2023 on the subject. “The embarrassing silence of Arab countries on the Gaza conflict is cause for concern. The Hamas attack of October 7 and Israel's indiscriminate retaliation have put the Palestinian question back at the top of the agenda, when it had been overshadowed by the normalization of relationships between Israel and several Arab countries, writes Le Monde columnist Gilles Paris.”
Egypt? Umm al-Dunya, Mother of the World, has been working closely with Israel. There are two, count ‘em, two border crossings between Egypt and the Israeli Entity: Rafah and Kerem Shalom, the latter often closed by Zionist extremists. (Cf. https://jmichaelspringmann.substack.com/p/jews-really-are-monsters). According to Palestinian friends who frequently travel to Gaza for business or to visit relatives, the Rafah crossing is problematical. Sometimes it is open. Sometimes it is closed. And there is no way of knowing when and for how long it might be unrestricted. Were the Mother of the World not in cahoots with the Zionists, the border point would be wide open. People would be able to travel to and from the United States. Palestinians could get American visas in Cairo. (The same problem happens when Palestinians attempt to enter Israel to obtain a U.S. visa for tourism or Permanent Residence. Inexplicable delays can and do occur.)

Saudi Arabia? Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry warned Saturday [February 10, 2024] of "very serious repercussions of storming and targeting" the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
"The Kingdom affirms its categorical rejection and strong condemnation of their forcible deportation, and renews its demand for an immediate ceasefire," the ministry said in a statement.” (CNN, February 11, 2024).
More unproductive talk.
The Kingdom’s economy is the strongest in the region and its armed forces are the best equipped in the Gulf area. According to a 2018 Newsweek piece, Saudi Arabia has a defense budget of $76.7 billion—giving the oil-rich nation a significant advantage over its regional rivals Israel and Iran, which have respective budgets of $18.5 billion and $8 billion. Yet the Saudis sit on their hands.

The Abraham Accords. Bahrain, Morocco, the Sudan, and the United Arab Emirates, all countries ruled by despots, signed an agreement with Israel during the second half of 2020. The object was to normalize relations, and undertake a series of trade deals and security cooperation arrangements. This split the Arab world and cut Palestine off from countries which should have supported it. In May 2021, Al Jazeera wrote:
It is hard to see how Arab countries that normalized relations with Israel can claim that their purpose was to bring peace to the Middle East. The events of the last few weeks point to their utter failure to effect any positive outcome on all fronts. To be sure, they are likely to face a public backlash and lose credibility following the Israeli raids on Al-Aqsa and the bloody assault on Gaza.
The Arab public has repeatedly shown itself to be committed to the Palestinian cause. In the last Arab Opinion Index of 2019-2020, conducted in 13 Arab countries representing some 300 million people, 88 percent of respondents rejected the idea of normalizing relations with Israel. Seventy-nine percent said that Palestine remains the major concern for all Arabs. In Sudan, 79 percent of respondents said they oppose having relations with Israel before Palestinian rights are secured.
The Arab League, founded in March 1945, has done little, if anything, in support of Occupied Palestine and its brave Hamas defenders. Made up of Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen, only Yemen has joined the fighting against the Apartheid Entity that styles itself Israel.
When I called the Arab League’s office in Washington, D.C., at 11:30 a.m. March 19, 2024 and asked for comments about the situation, I was told to call back in an hour to speak with Ambassador Dr. Hussein Hassouna about support for Hamas and Palestine. When I did so, twice, the Arab League hung up on me—twice.

COMMENT. An African journalist once told me that the Arab League is best described as a group of idiots sitting round a table, arguing which of them is the most stupid.
