Having seen my article Head for the Hills [HEAD FOR THE HILLS! - by J. Michael Springmann (substack.com)], Scott Webber, Maryland Political Activist, was moved to send me his comments about Maryland’s Lieutenant Governor, Aruna Miller. From his remarks, you can see how the Governor, Wes Moore, would be well-served to sideline Mrs. Miller to protect his career and his Party.
When contacted for this article, Webber told me, “I am a proud progressive Democrat, so I cannot tell you how it pains me to go after my own party leadership, especially the great promise I see in Governor Wes Moore. So the dilemma for me now becomes how to protect Wes Moore and the Democratic Party from Aruna Miller's insidious and dangerous right-wing Neo-Nazi Hindu nationalist ties!?
Despite overwhelming evidence, she continues to deny any association with [India’s Prime Minister] Modi’s BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), and its American counterparts, but refuses to denounce them, and continues to take in hundreds of thousands of dollars in Hindutva-associated donations. I believe fiercely in open democracy, and believe all politicians should be held accountable for their associations, and their donors. Aruna Miller should be no exception. Instead, Lt. Governor Miller has gone on a rampage, vowing harsh retribution, retaliation, and punishment against anybody who attempts to expose her behavior. She has even reached the point of flagrantly abusing her office to manipulate and give directives to county central committees to shut down any discussion of her fascist connections. I personally observed this just a couple days ago when Saman Qadeer Ahmad, Chair and Spokesperson for the MCDCC [Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee] refused to acknowledge a speaker - a journalist - during the public comment period, abruptly closed the meeting, refused to speak after the meeting with the multiple journalists present, and has even discussed strategies for retaliation and punishment against the journalists for asking followup questions. This is scary behavior in my open democracy, but exactly the behavior one would expect from authoritarian, Nazi-inspired fascists like the Hindutva and their allies."
