Worshipers at a Synagogue
Impossible! But it’s true. Canadian and American Jews are using property companies to “buy” up the parts of Palestine not already stolen. Zionists in both countries are working with Home In Israel, an Israeli real estate company that's associated with U.S.-based real estate franchise Keller Williams. They also use a firm Your home in Israel. Land agents will help customers sell real property to Jews inquiring about projects in places such as parts of Modiin, Ma'ale Adumim, Neve Daniel and Efrat, which are Israeli colonies in the West Bank.
Truly Shocking. The sell-a-thon is not done in real estate offices. It’s done through synagogues, either in the place of worship itself or an attached building. This is not Bingo, a game of chance many religions use to promote fellowship and raise money for their institutions. Most normal people would close an eye to religious gambling but would and should be aghast at using sacred spaces for impious activities.
What’s their goal? To promote investment in the Israeli Entity or to promote emigration there!
Palestine Land Day Celebration
Still More Shocking. It’s against Canadian law. Canada considers Israeli settlements in the occupied territories to be in violation of international convention, with its federal government saying they "constitute a serious obstacle to achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace." The United States insists that the colonies are contrary to international law also. But America has done little to halt or roll back this land seizure.
And Yet Outrageously Shocking. The land vendors sell not to everyone but only to Jews. That is blatant discrimination. Imagine the uproar that would occur if Christians re-established land covenants that had restricted property sales, preventing Jews and Negroes from purchasing houses! In the United States, these were abolished by the Fair Housing Act of 1968 and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In Canada, the Human Rights Act prohibits such practices: “discrimination on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin, colour [sic], religion, age, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, disability, or conviction for an offence which has been pardoned are formally prohibited by law.”
And What Do Canadian Jews Say About This? Questioning an illegal action is anti-Semitic! If people are taking issue with this, Rabbi Daniel Korobkin said, there are ways to address it other than through protest — something Jewish advocacy group B'nai Brith Canada agreed with.
"Nothing justifies targeting a house of worship," said Richard Robertson. "To target a shul is antisemitic and can never be tolerated in Canadian society." (He is B'nai Brith Canada's director of research and advocacy.) Robertson added that the Jews are so concerned that they are calling on police to prevent similar protests from happening.
Regarding one event in New Jersey, USA Today noted: “But some Israel supporters criticized the protest, calling it a pro-Hamas event. The demonstration is a “cynical attempt to target a religious institution under false pretenses as part of a coordinated and malicious campaign to harass Teaneck’s Jewish community," said Yigal Gross, a spokesman for the Bergen County Jewish Action Committee.”
The article continued, quoting Adina Abramoff of Teaneck. She said the real estate event was “very informative” and that the protesters were “misguided” about what it was about. “The fact that SWAT teams have to be called out to protect us at a synagogue event is very sad,” she added.
A SWAT TEAM AT A SALE OF STOLEN LAND? TO PROTECT THE SELLERS?
Religion Aside. Chelsey Lichtman, a member of the advocacy group Jews Say No to Genocide, said it's "sacrilegious" to use synagogues as places to hold real estate events. "The synagogues are holding events that [are] trying to get Canadians to invest in stolen Palestinian land in Israel," said Lichtman, who works as a real estate agent. "Selling stolen Palestinian land contributes to the ongoing colonization of [the]Palestinian people."
In the U.S., the communications manager for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Dina Sayedahmed said in a public statement, "Houses of worship should be sacred spaces, and it is deeply concerning to see anyone use a house of worship to allegedly flout international law by selling off stolen land."
Here’s the Final Say. And it is truly astonishing (but really shouldn’t be.) An unnamed Jewish real estate agent said: "Maintaining a strong connection to the land of Israel is very fundamental to our religious beliefs," That of course is absolute nonsense. Rabbi Dovid Weiss of New York City has repeatedly stated that Judaism is a religion, not a nationality.
