Group Think. All 13 original States adopted the federal Constitution by 1791. Unlike Germany’s, America’s Basic Law is fairly brief and concise. Also in 1791, the States ratified 10 amendments, the Bill of Rights, to the original document. These were designed to fill gaps in the original manuscript. Basically short, clear, and to the point, they guaranteed essential liberties not included in the original work. Based on the new country’s experiences as a British colony, these were:
1. Freedom of speech, religion, and assembly
2. Freedom to possess firearms
3. No quartering of soldiers in private homes
4. Freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures
5. Freedom from loss of life, liberty, or property without due process
6. Right to a speedy trial, knowledge of charges brought, and to confront hostile witnesses
7. Right of trial by jury
8. No excessive bail or fines nor cruel and unusual punishments
9. Enumeration of certain rights in the Constitution will not deny or disparage those held by the people
10. Powers not delegated to the United States nor to the States are reserved to the States or to the people.
Over the centuries, federal court cases filled library walls with controversies arising out of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. But it wasn’t until the last few years that extremists in America began to argue that the Bill of Rights was divisible. And that some of the enumerated liberties no longer applied. “Because times have changed”!
Leaders in the attacks on the Bill of Rights have been such disparate characters as Alec Baldwin, a questionable movie actor who killed a woman on a movie set with a revolver—by mistake (?). Therefore, he was not punished. His view? “The Second Amendment is not a moral credit card that buys you all the guns you want. That law needs to be rethought."
Alec Baldwin
Aged politicians such as revolver-toting 90-year-old Senator Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) have said: “Banning guns addresses a fundamental right of all Americans to feel safe.”. And the “news media”! Petulant Petula Dvorak, a “columnist” for the Washington Post said: “More guns because of fear, fear because there are so many guns. This isn’t freedom, for any of us.”
Diane Feinstein
Firearms used to have only two enemies: rust and politicians. Now, it seems we must add “journalists” and Justices to the list. That includes the Internet. Scarcely can you switch on a browser without seeing an attack on firearms. Former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens said that the 2nd Amendment is an 18th Century anachronism which should be repealed.

Individuals and groups deluge us all with emails on the deadliness of firearms without acknowledging reality. Individuals and groups seek to change our thought processes through ads, posters, and TV messages. But, unlike Alec Baldwin’s tall tale or Washington Post biased articles about the SIGSauer P320 going off by itself, it takes a criminal, a lackwit, or a simpleton to pull the trigger.

Children have said that when they shot their younger relative, they didn’t understand why the dead individual didn’t get up again, just like on TV. Then there is the 6-year-old who shot his teacher in Virginia. The school knew he had a handgun but did nothing. The child’s mother asserted that the unspecified firearm was on the top shelf of a closet—with a trigger lock installed. She hasn’t yet explained how a six-year-old climbed up there and opened a safety catch without a key.
Fantasies Aside, Here’s Some Fact-Based Analysis. Democrats control nearly all the major cities in the United States. They believe, according to CNN, that availability of firearms causes crime. Yet, most of these Democrat-run cities, such as Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C., have draconian restrictions on firearms acquisition and possession. In fact, Washington, District of Columbia should be renamed “District of Crime”. Criminals using illegal firearms are jailed and then released, sometimes by mistake. The city did almost nothing during the Black Racism Matters arson, looting, riots, and general insurrection in 2020—except style them peaceful protests.
Neither the Washington Post nor the Metropolitan Police Department know or care if firearms are used illegally. The D.C. Code requires a complicated, expensive, and time-consuming process for a citizen to purchase a weapon. (Cf. (1) WASHINGTON, D.C. GUN LAWS APPLY ONLY TO CITIZENS—NOT CRIMINALS (substack.com)) Yet, both entities blame the importation of weapons from other States, such as Virginia, for all the gun crime in town. Perhaps D.C. can’t enforce its own laws: “Carrying a pistol without a license is a felony charge that carries a maximum five-year prison sentence. Possession of an unregistered firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition are misdemeanor offenses, and each carries a maximum jail sentence of one year.” If a previously-convicted criminal engages in such activities, the punishments jump from one year to 15, depending on the offense.
But then, Democrats are soft on crime, partly because of their thought processes and their great desire to protect Negroes. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (part of the U.S. Justice Department), Negroes, 13% of the American population, are arrested for 53% of the murders in the country And are over-represented for involvement in other crimes of violence, such as rape and armed robbery. (These statistics haven’t changed much over the years.)
Chopping Up the Bill of Rights. And Brain-Washing Without Soap
If you start with eliminating the 2nd Amendment, where do you stop? Everyone says unpopular or unpalatable things. Isn’t that a right to be protected? Given the institutionalized racism now endemic in the U.S. as the result of “wokeism”, everyone is offended by something and so gets muzzled. Now, Freedom of Speech is even unpopular on college campuses, especially if it involves criticism of the Apartheid Entity that styles itself “Israel”. How many people, like the Palestinian Sami al-Arian, have been jailed because of political crimes, such as speaking out on behalf of Palestine? And not confronted by their accusers?

Did John Kiriakou get a fair trial for revealing that the U.S. engaged in torture of prisoners?

Dear Reader, use your imagination and think about what would happen to you for crossing a group that disliked you? And how a truncated list of constitutional revisions, designed to protect you from governmental overreach, won’t help you.
The people and organizations out to abolish the Bill of Rights one by one use lies, haft-truths, questionable statistics, and distortions of facts to brainwash you without soap. They want control of your mind. They characterize ordinary rifles as “weapons of war”, seeking “common sense solutions” to abolish them.
Here’s How It’s Done. These are some of investigative reporter Leo Hohmann’s principals of mind-control:
· Entice the brainwashing subjects into questioning and doubting their fundamental worldview values and convictions.
· Teach moral relativism and situational ethics in order to destroy morality and character.
· Teach the importance of group consensus and collectivism, and the danger and consequence of individuality.
· Teach feelings and personal subjective experiences over facts, reason, logic and context.
· Put the brainwashing subject into a state of fear, anxiety, confusion, and social turbulence in order to diminish the subjects’ ability to think critically using reason, logic and context. The ultimate goal is to force the subject to surrender his or her values, and worldview to those of the change agents and their controlled and crafted group consensus.
· Conceal the lies and evil agenda of the propagandist behind masking terms that sound good, but are chosen to shame and manipulate the targeted subjects into willingly embracing their own demise. [Reasonable gun safety legislation?]
· Use individuals in trusted institutions and occupations to give credibility to the worldview and values being introduced into the brainwashing subjects.
· Create an atmosphere and environment of chaos, suffering, hopelessness and danger and then rescue the subjects from this condition so that the persecutor is perceived as being a friend, protector and savior [classic Stockholm syndrome].
Sound familiar? It’s been used effectively to “explain” the three World Trade Towers collapsing. It’s been used to handle the COVID19 “virus”. It’s been used to conceal the truth behind UFOs, whatever they are. It’s been used to justify American wars of aggression. And it’s being used to “control” firearms. It’s effective and being improved on all the time.
Some estimates assert that there are 300 million to 400 million guns of all types in this country, roughly one for every inhabitant. You’d think that, if firearms were a problem, there’d be a real one, given all those firesticks.
The Real Issue. After the lamestream media goes on a tear about the latest “mass murder” (conveniently not specifying requisite numbers), the truth eventually drifts out, weeks later. Here’s one example, the Korean, Seung-Hui Cho, who killed 32 fellow students and teachers at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Seung-Hui Cho
In the aftermath of the Virginia Tech shooting, authorities found no evidence that Cho, who was born in South Korea and moved to America with his family in 1992, had specifically targeted any of his victims. The public soon learned that Cho, described by students as a loner who rarely spoke to anyone, had a history of mental health problems.
It was also revealed that angry, violent writings Cho made for certain class assignments had raised concern among some of his professors and fellow students well before the events of April 16, [2007]…(History.com).
According to Wikipedia (!), “Cho had previously been diagnosed with selective mutism and severe depression. During much of his middle school and high school years, he received therapy and special education support. After graduating from high school, Cho enrolled at Virginia Tech. Because of federal privacy laws, the university was unaware of Cho's previous diagnoses or the accommodations he had been granted at school. In 2005, Cho was accused of stalking two female students. After an investigation, a Virginia special justice declared Cho mentally ill and ordered him to attend treatment…”
However, no one and no organization had earlier placed the murderer in a mental institution nor did any punishment fall upon those who treated Cho and who knew, without a doubt, that he was a danger to himself and to all around him. His family was never held to account.
Unfortunately, Cho’s actions are typical of “mass shooters”. Or even of individual killings. Media, politicians, organizations, and others who seek to dismantle individual freedoms seize upon these events to strip law-abiding citizens of their rights—all in the name of “safety”.
And they are bankrolled by people with more money than brains—or ability. Look at Jeff Bezos, owner of Amazon and the Washington Post, who never misses an opportunity to print fantasy about firearms in his paper. His worth is $129.26 billion. He pumps some of this money into anti-civil rights organizations.
Jeff Bezos & Friend
Michael Bloomberg, failed New York official and founder of Every Town For Gun Safety, is worth $94.5 billion. He bankrolls extremist groups out to abolish the inconvenient Constitution and Bill of Rights. His “philanthropy” goes to elections, flipping Virginia legislature seats in 2020. The puling professional politician, according to Influence Watch, pledged $50 million to Everytown. That group, Influence Watch notes, has manipulated statistics on firearms violence, adding “Everytown for Gun Safety has been called out across the political spectrum for playing fast and loose with facts and figures. The Washington Post, Washington Times, New York Times, and the Washington Examiner have published articles criticizing the group for circulating a misleading claim about the number of school shootings in 2018.”
Michael Bloomberg
Reasons for This? Money buys power and friends. And influence beyond measure. Only men with oversize egos get into this. They evidently are not loved for themselves but apparently figure that their dollars will purchase, if not admiration, then notoriety; in their view, much the same thing.
In their moneyed arrogance, they ignore the real causes of crime: poverty, unemployment, a failed economy, dysfunctional schools, no useful education.
And who wants to upset the gravy train? Question the sources of their finances, question the goals of their “benefactors”, question the attacks on civil rights, and, voila!, someone’s out of a cushy job; someone’s in the poorhouse with kids in college and a mortgage; someone no longer has status.
Really and truly, America is a failed state.
